CHASE is the WORST company in the world.

worst. bank. ever.
I will tell you my sob story, it may be long and boring, so if you don’t want to read it that’s fine, just please avoid CHASE at all costs.

My mortgage got sold to Chase Mortgage last year and I was sent paperwork to set up automatic withdrawal. I had automatic withdrawal up until then and everything worked out fine, so I filled it out and sent it in. Months went by without a problem. In November I decided to switch my main account from Desert Schools Credit Union to ING Direct, and with it, switched all of my automatic withdrawals (most of my bills) to the new account. I logged into Chase Mortgage online and entered my new bank information. On December 1st, I checked my ING account and my mortgage payment had come out. Then, that Friday, I got a letter from Desert Schools saying I received a Nonsufficient Fee on Monday when Chase tried to pull my payment out of Desert Schools account. I logged in and I actually had two NSFs, one from Monday, one from Thursday. I called Chase the following Monday and explained the situation and after a long while, they understood and said they would send a check out to cover the NSFs if i faxed in a bank statement. I did.

About 2 weeks later, I got a letter in the mail from them saying they were not going to refund the money because it was my fault because Chase has two completely separate automatic withdrawal programs, one through paperwork and one through the mail. And instead of transferring my information, I had signed up for both.

I called and pled my case and they told me to write down everything and fax it in. So I did. I received another letter less than two weeks later saying it was still me fault and they were not giving me a dime. I called again to ask what the next step was and they said there wasn’t a next step. As far as they were concerned, the matter was over. I told them I am paying off the loan and going with another company (not because of this ordeal, I was already in the process of a refinance regardless of the outcome of this) and I wanted to make sure I had no automatic withdrawals on the account. The guy said there wasn’t any. Yesterday, my payoff posted and this morning, an automatic withdrawal came out of my account from Chase. I called and the online department said it’s finalized, so they can’t reverse it. The mortgage department said it still hasn’t posted to their system yet, so they can’t refund it yet. So now I’m out a month’s mortgage payment until Chase can get their act together. I pray my new mortgage doesn’t get sold back to this pathetic company. Bailout the banks? Ha! I hope this one fails and I will spit on it’s grave.

PS- I’m taking Chase to small claims court for the $56 in Nonsufficient Fees. It probably won’t be financially profitable for me (even if I win), but I feel it’s the right thing to do. I’ll keep you updated.

Chase Bank harbors the most evil fiscal minds on the planet. If the earth’s supply of morality weighed 50 trillion tons, you couldn’t scrape a gram off the sidewalk if you wrung out every person, building and piece of infrastructure associated with Chase on the entire planet.

Long story short. I started a business with a partner and we applied for a credit card in 2000 which we both signed for personally due to the fact the business was new and had no credit history. Later we had a falling out and he bought me out in early 2002. Part of the deal was that I was to be removed from liability on each and every account having anything to do the business. At the time the card was held through Bank One. After an endless go around which lasted nearly two years, Bank One released me from the account in 2004 and transferred complete liability to the former partner. Fast forward 5 years. Former partner declares bankruptcy but first runs up $45K+ on his Chase (formerly Bank One pre-Chase merger) account. Chase swoops in to pick the carcass clean but bangs their empty skulls first on the former partner’s corporate veil, then his bankruptcy declaration. Oh my. Time to release the weasels. So into the archives go the Chase weasel squad and discover that at one time, long ago and in a place far away, I was the primary guarantor for the former business partner’s credit card with Bank One. Well! A small transposition here, an “accidentally misplaced” release of liability there, voila! A rube is born. No more corporate veil, no more Chapter 11 protection. So suddenly, after never hearing from these cretinous, sub-human walking septic tanks in my life, they hang an adverse notice of $45K overdue and a 120 day late notice on my lifetime of perfect credit and 835 FICO score in January 2009. So I try to look up the release of liability from Bank One and nada. I go to the former partner to see if he still has a copy in his records. Nada. I have the form we sent Bank One, but no reply on paper. 40 hours on the phone with Chase, nothing. Investigation from the big three reporting agencies. Nothing. Emails to Chase. Nothing. Once they have determined to rob you, the entire organization becomes deaf and dumb. And the credit bureaus don’t dare bite the hand that feeds them, so here I am. My perfect credit has been destroyed. I have a debt run up by a person I had nothing to do with and a business I had absolutely no say over for a half decade that is accumulating interest at the rate of $1100 and growing geometrically each month. Partner has Chase off his back and my ability to earn a living (which depends on being able to obtain credit), is over.

That is Chase Bank. An organization that will destroy an entire family and an individual’s lifetime of hard work rather than accept the fact they lent the wrong guy money and got burnt (which, by the way is WHY I got away from said former partner in the first place). So now I need an attorney to avoid paying the other guy’s debt. But from what Chase has indicated, the adverse 120 day late and the $45K will remain on my credit report for ten years whether they receive all their money or not. So my credit is gone either way. These are the scumbags you will be dealing with if you decide to do business with Chase. You sign up with these despicable slime, you deserve everything that happens to you.

    Chase practices Gotcha banking.

I’m really pissed off with the credit card service provided by Pier 1. I made two purchases that were supposed to both be on interest free promotion. I calculated how much I needed to pay each month and set up a recurring payment to pay off the balance. I turns out one of the purchases was not put on promotion as promised and I accrued about $15 of interest on the account that was left over after the promotional period. Chase card went ahead and nailed me with all the back interest because of this $15 left over that was interest that I should not have accrued anyway. Note that they could consider the $15 the left over of the non-promotional charge so that I wouldn’t be charged all the back interest on the promotion. After calling them they refused point blank to budge in any way. They basically said that’s your problem, deal with it. Their attitude is we’re the bank and your tax dollars aren’t enough for us we want to steal even more to pay to our executives. Chase is one of the worst banks in terms of customer service. They practice Gotcha banking. Pier 1 should change who they use for their credit card service or forget about keeping me as a customer. No one should ever think about doing business with Chase. CHASE: Avoid it at ALL cost!
